Crackle Edition Artist
Crackle defies all preconceptions and makes a glassblower's nightmare – cracked glass – its raison d'être. Here it's used to give the object beauty and character.
The mold is dug out of clay by hand and the cracked surface is formed using an ancient technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice cold water. The result is a series of objects whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, reminiscent of sculptures made of colored ice.
Crackle Japanese Knotweed, Canadian Golden Rod, Himalayan Balsam, Rugosa Rose III and Giant Hogweed III are made in editions of five unique, numbered pieces, signed by the artist.
Every Crackle is mouth-blown in Kosta, Sweden.
